Dr Mommy, INC. supports youth and their families by creating SAFE spaces that bridge socioeconomic gaps, offering enrichment in education, financial empowerment, and mental wellness through restorative and culturally affirming programs.

Dr. Maurice L. Suggs

Treasurer

Dr. Maurice L. Suggs is an educator and mentor who works with students at both the K–12 and college levels. He is a faculty member at Delaware State University in the College of Business, Sport Management Department, where he prepares students for careers in the sport industry.

His work is centered on helping young people grow—on the field, in the classroom, and in life. In addition to teaching and coaching, Dr. Suggs works with school administrators, faculty, and community partners to strengthen how schools support students. His work includes participation in working groups and applied research focused on improving student outcomes and expanding opportunities.

In the classroom and on the field, he emphasizes real-life skills like communication, accountability, and leadership. He believes sports are more than competition—they are an opportunity for young people to learn how to handle challenges, work with others, and make thoughtful decisions.

Dr. Suggs is committed to meeting students where they are and helping them take the next step forward—whether in school, in sports, or in their future.

Dr. Serita Reels​

Secretary

Dr. Serita M. Reels is an educator, public health practitioner, author, and studentaffairs leader committed to advancing student well-being, equity, and identitydevelopment. She serves as Director of Student Support and Equity at La SalleUniversity, where she leads initiatives addressing students’ basic needs, mentalhealth, and sense of belonging as part of the university’s student success andretention efforts. She is also the co-founder and executive director of NewGeneration Empowerment Ministries, Inc., a non-profit that provides education,programs, and community services for youth that address the eight dimensions ofwellness.

 

Dr. Reels is also the founder of Identity Reclaimed™, a platform dedicated tohelping emerging adults reclaim identity, rebuild confidence, and navigate life withclarity and purpose. As the author of Just Bee: A Story About Self-Love andConfidence, she encourages children to develop confidence, practice self-love, andembrace their unique identity.Her work bridges research, practice, and community engagement to supportindividuals navigating complex life and educational systems.

 

She holds aDoctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy (EdD) from Cabrini University, aMaster of Public Health (MPH) from Drexel University School of Public Health,and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in biological sciences from Drexel UniversityCollege of Arts and Sciences.
